American compliance exchange Coinbase, facing regulatory uncertainty in the U.S. and litigation with the SEC, has launched an offshore derivatives exchange in Bermuda. The platform currently averages $100 million in daily trading volume and plans to introduce more features in the second half of the year.

Coinbase received approval from the Bermuda Monetary Authority (BMA) in late April and launched its offshore derivatives exchange for international users to trade Bitcoin and Ethereum perpetual contracts. According to The Block, the exchange traded nearly $900 million between June 21-28, averaging about $100 million daily.
