Uniswap Labs, the development company of the decentralized cryptocurrency exchange Uniswap, announced on Wednesday that its permissionless bridging feature has been launched, allowing users to directly transfer cross chain assets through the Uniswap interface and Uniswap Wallet.

This in app bridging feature is currently applicable to 9 memory blockchains including Ethereum, Base, Arbitrarum, Polygon, OP Mainnet, Zora, Blast, World Chain, and ZKsync. It only supports bridging native assets (such as ETH on Ethereum or ARB on Arbitrarum) and stablecoins.
The introduction of Uniswap's permissionless bridging feature is aimed at addressing the tedious issues often faced when operating and managing assets across multiple memory blockchains. Uniswap Labs wrote in its blog post, "Transferring assets between chains has always been a challenge, requiring the use of external cross chain bridges, unfamiliar interfaces, and long transaction times. In addition, the security of different bridging services is always uncertain
Uniswap Labs states that this in app bridging feature is supported by Across Protocol, which is a permissionless cross chain bridge that operates through a decentralized network consisting of liquidity pools and repeaters, unlike other cross chain bridges.
